It's a short story actually, as short as our meeting session, but do stick on my mind. He came at once and disappeared without I have the chance to know his name.
It was a messy, weird and embarrassing situation at that night. I was at the entrance gate of the Buah Batu toll roads, trying to tap my e-money to open the portal of the gate. Unfortunately, this card is not working! The car then stucked and the other cars horn behind shouted out loudly. I was being mad, sad and a bit panic.
But, wait! There was a man walking calmly towards my car. Nope, he is not a ghost, of course! I can see clearly that he walked on his feet.
"Try this, Mam!" He handed over me an e-money card. I tapped it to the card reader, to make the portal lifted up otomatically. Yes! It worked! The reader shown that its balance is about 100 thousand rupiahs.
The portal of the gate opened perfectly. I run the car entered the tolls road and then stopped at about 150 m after the gate position. Waiting for him to return his card.
His car then stopped behind mine, and this kind man walked towards me. That smiling face, oh may…, so friendly!
“Sir, Thank you very much for your help! I don’t know why my card doesn’t work! Your help is so meant to me.” I handed over the card back while talking to him.
“No, just take the card with you. Hopefully it will help you in entering or exit the gate. I still have another card.” He answered while showing me his card.
“No, Sir. This is yours. You still have a big amount of balance inside. Please, this is yours.” I tried to convince him. But, he kept refused.
“As I said, I still have another one. Just keep it with you. I am happily left if to you, Mam. I have to go now.” He kept saying so and excused himself to leave. That smiling face was memorable.
I do speechless. Ya Rabbana, You sent me an angel without the wings. Alhamdulillah ya, Allah. Thank you, ya Rab!
