Infiniti QX30 is the answer for all those who love a sports luxury crossover. The Japanese maker is finally set to bring in it's the much-awaited premium compact crossover that will compete with some of the bests of the best in the industry like BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA and Audi Q3 etc. The vehicle was revealed during the 2015 Auto Show Los Angeles with its five-door design and a visual design that pleased one’s eyes.
The 2017 Infiniti QX30 has been developed collaboratively by Nissan and Daimler and it uses the same platform as the Mercedes-Benz GLA. In fact, one can see glimpses of the German vehicle when you look at the QX30 up close and personal. The 2017 Infiniti crossover uses a 2.0 litre four cylinder gasoline engine that can deliver a power output of 208 bhp while the torque that this machine can pull out is nearly 258 pound-feet. The engine comes mated with a 7-speed dual clutch automated gearbox and it gets a front-wheel drive format as a standard. For those who wish for it, the All-Wheel Drive option will also be available. As for the fuel efficiency; the official figures are still awaited but nevertheless one can expect somewhere close to 35 mpg or so from the new Infiniti especially on highways.
The all-new 2017 Infiniti QX30 will be offered with a Sport, AWD and a standard drive format. The former will be 0.6 inches lower than the standard variants which will stand at 6.7 inch ride height. The All-Wheel Drive format variants will stand 1.2 inches taller than the standard QX30 variants. Apart from this, they will also have stiff suspension and slower steering ratios which will allow a better drive for those who wish to use the AWD mode. The different models offered by Infiniti will include Base, Luxury and Premium where AWD will be offered in Luxury and Prim trims whereas Sport will have a single trim level.
The vehicle will also be offered with option packs that will allow the user to completely customise the car as per their preferences. These package choices will include LED lighting option, a technology pack with advanced safety and convenience features like the camera with surround view, parking assist as well as forward emergency brakes and adaptive cruise control etc.
The new Infiniti QX30 feels like a typical sports wagon especially when you're driving the forward wheel format. The All-wheel drive, however, has a more crossover-like handling in comparison. One can feel an initial lag but once it’s in full swing, there isn't much to complain about. Its road character is perfect with well-tuned suspension, refined engine and sophisticated design elements. In fact, one can say that if you're someone who likes the sports driving but is looking for the comfort of a crossover, then 2017 Infiniti QX30 might just be the one for you.
The prices expected for the QX30 should start from USD 30,900 while the Sport should be somewhere between USD 39,450 and USD 43,050 while the AWD will be around USD 35,350 to USD 43,700. The Option packs, however, will be available at extra costs but rest assured, the maximum price tag on the 2017 Infiniti QX30 will be around USD 45,450.
