Technically this is an update of #13, but I thought I would create a new post for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, I wanted to mention the excellent post by 
Hive account@bashadow that goes into some of the finer details with steem power that it really worth reading for new comers and the reason for this update:

Secondly, I want to let people know about the work being done by 
Hive account@decryptionary, which is also a very good project helping new steemians like me working through all the jargons and details in a simplified way.
I am getting close to what would probably be the first milestone on steemit of having 100 followers. You can be sure there will be an infographic to go with it :)
