Bila akun kita kita di bobol oleh orang yang tidak mengerti cara media ini bekerja, maka mereka akan mengirimkan sbd atau steem yang mereka curi dari salah satu akun steemit ke akun milik mereka sendiri, sebagai mana yang sedang terjadi dengan akun Hive account@atoksilver dan Hive account@zubailiramli.
Maraknya pencurian di steemit, perlu menjadi perhatian khusus dari para witness yang bertanggungjawab menjaga keamanan di steemit, kami sebagai pengguna yang sama sekali tidak mengerti tentang scrib dan program yang ada di steemit, akan selalu menjadi korban jika tidak ada antisipasi khusus dari para witnes.
