Blog retracted by author.
After I entered the 2018 Infowars reporter contest, Alex Jones was banned from YouTube. The deadline for the contest was July 4th of 2018. By August of 2018, Alex Jones had been banned from Twitter and the Infowars App was axed from the Apple Store.
Here we are in December and the purge of conservative voices continues. And the decision I made to debase Alex Jones hangs heavy on my heart. Laura Loomer and Gavin McInnis are the latest big name alternative media voices that have been silenced. And it makes the axing of Milo Yianopolous even more disconcerting.
As I am sure there are many more voices that were silenced on social media, I needed to write more than a retraction because I realize my lashing out at Alex Jones after entering his reporter contest was my ego lashing out in anger. And as Alex had no control over his deplatforming, my lashing out at him came off as that of a co-agent of those who sought to silence infowars.com and Alex Jones.
So, in the spirit of Christmas, I am issuing this full retraction and apology to Alex Jones and anyone who was offended that I was critical of the him when he needed us most.
For the record, I did order and wear an Infowars.com "CNN is Fake News" to a Trump Rally here in Pensacola. Got more compliments and laughs from the shirt than I can count.
As you can see from the response I got below, Alex Jones was defended by other people on Steemit. And, I initially rewrote the blog to reflect a more level headed take on it. But, over time, I've realized I was lashing out because I was so sure I would win one of the top 3 prizes for the 2018 Inforwars Reporter Contest. And when that didn't happen, I lashed out at Alex like an angry child. Admitting that to myself and the world, I think is the best way to make an apology to Alex Jones and also to heal myself for dropping into a dark place for a bit.
