It didn't take much more than a quick search of Moon of Alabama (a great source for all things anti-imperialist) for me to find a connection between the uprising in Kazakhstan and a Pentagon-funded Washington think-tank. The RAND corporation put out a piece in 2019 that clearly lays out the last half-decade of US moves against Russia in it's backyard.
