Facebook surely deserves whatever nasty outcomes we can dream up for their blatant abuse of the public trust. I am not a member, so I am not really sure what level of disclaimers you have to click through to join, but I bet they never told you that ALL of your personal data would be shared with every possible business entity (or spying agency) that may want it, FOR PROFIT.
(The Schmuck himself, who wants to be America's next "elected" king.)
Mark Zuckerschmuck went through his "show trial" before Congress a few months back, and it made me so sick watching him whack the softball lobs from "our representatives" all over the place with his condescending and superior tones, that I couldn't finish. He did the same routine for the E.U. "Parliament" later. Now, apparently, he is going to be able to bring the same dog & pony show to Canada and the U.K. next:
Here is an excerpt from the article linked above:
"Members of Parliament from Great Britain and Canada are pushing to have Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg testify before them and answer questions about his company’s data privacy practices and disinformation being spread on the social media platform....
Zuckerberg has already appeared in front of the U.S. Congress and European Parliament but has sent other representatives to speak to members of the British and Canadian parliaments, who have both requested his testimony. 'We understand that it is not possible to make yourself available to all parliaments,' Collins and Zimmer wrote. However, we believe that your users in other countries need a line of accountability to your organisation—directly, via yourself.' Zuckerschmuck has told Parliament in the past that he has wanted to send employees to speak on issues who are 'at the most senior levels of the company' and in 'an authoritative position.'
So far, Lord Zuckerschmuck has not agreed to make His Highness available to the British or Canadian parliaments, even after being smacked with a 500,000 British-Pounds fine for information breaches that led to a major scandal in Britain. Perhaps, if they offer to ask the questions "off the record" in Yiddish or Hebrew, we might get more of the truth leaked out...??
Don't hold your breath.
