CRUDE OIL AND BLOOD
"Crude oil is blood oil". At least in African countries which has it in abundance and still kills the citizens. Because of Crude Oil exploration, several innocent and helpless African lives have been wasted, exploited due to the discovery of Oil in their environments. Nigeria as a case study has suffered many damages irrespective of the 2.12 Million Barrel per month in production and with a Net Oil Revenue of 41.038 Trillion Naira per annum.
Aside from the disgusting corruption in the Oil sector, thousands had been killed with pipeline explosions, water and air poisoning due to the negligence for citizens safety and none compliance act of Major Oil exploration companies from the free world. Each barrel of oil production is equivalent to 20 lives at risk or death in the Niger Delta oil region of Nigeria. Capitalism has consumed the country's political stability through the influence of the Western World and bribery by this major oil Giants made each reported death like that of a "Lab-Rat" with each step to probe and investigate these mishaps is swept under the rug.
Greed of this Western powers had given birth to Militants been funded and provided with state-of-the-art weapons to tackle the Government and kill innocent citizens in remote villages where these Crude oil wells are located. Dozens of innocent foreign lives had been wasted or mutilated, many experts and Geologist had been abducted with many of them not lucky to make it back alive despite heavy ransoms that were paid for their lives/freedoms. With some twisted process, these militants were sponsored by highest Bidding foreign Oil companies who only want to destabilize the oil production process to establish anarchy just like the buildup of Gulf war.
A BRIEF DIGRESSION; A SHORT HISTORY OF CRUDE OIL CONFLICTS- GULF WAR
Crude oil was the major cause of conflict between Kuwait and Iraq back in the 90s, this war killed:
47 British Soldiers
146 Americans
Over 1000 Kuwaities and
Above 600 missing.
This war cost the United State of America $61.1 Billion and also caused the largest offshore oil spill as a result of 400 Million US Gallons of oil dropped into the Persian Gulf. Oil has been evil since its discovery, its environmental effects are very devastating and so is the conflicts associated with it.
Angola is another wealthy country in terms of Crude Oil, but with over three decades of unending war; one out of three children lives beyond the age of five. With 90% 0f Angola's revenue from oil, a huge chunk of this funds goes to fighting it's 26years old war. This had left several of its Capital cities in darkness without electricity for at least 10years and over 3.8 Million of its citizens are destabilized by the same war which had been put in place by the supreme Western powers to control the Government of Angola through its precious Mineral Oil- Crude Oil.
