Catching Up On Posting
First... A Haiku!
Prompts and poetry
Inking Twenty Seventeen
I'm devirginized.
And now... on with the show!
30 Days of Inking! Draw Your Heart Out this October!
I am actually caught up on drawing, which is pretty cool. Just finished sword, which is the prompt for day 6. Buuuut, I haven't done the actual posting. Here is the two from day 3 and 4 though!
As a freelancer, it took me a while to do the same with words. I kept at it and that was how I got better. I keep telling myself that it is the same with drawing. I don't have the time to spend thinking about something to draw daily. Some days, some weeks are busier. I assume that it is like journaling and writing and all those other topics that I was instructed to, "do it... the action... trust and have faith in the process to learn the purpose." As I get older, it makes more and more sense.
This has been a great challenge. With day 2 I had this very elaborate design that took me hours. That was not the case for the prompt word for Day 3 POISON and 4 Under Water. In fact, the last two days have been so hectic it has been hard to find time for anything. I did the drawings each day and am just getting to post them!
First, a little drawing (and a poem) about Poison.
Poetry of Poison
Toxic.
These memories.
Nothing more than fragments, creating a world that only we can see.
Each independent and separate from the whole of reality.
Shards of perception, unleashing a shared delusion.
Creating chaos through imagination,
inspiring dreams that amount to nothing when your life is wasted.
Under Water
Now, the poem came for this first. It was what I thought of when I went to draw. As you can tell, the visions do not correlate. But hey, you can't win all the time, right? It was still fun :)
The birth of heresy was spilled between her thighs,
proving to her that is no man innocent.
No Man wise.
It was the same man that she had entrusted with her tears,
gently rocking her, as he comforted her at night.
He smiled slightly as he wiped away her tears,
telling her stories or singing quietly to ensure that her dreams were without fear.
Terror locked in, proven over and over again with the littlest of lies.
"Hush now, little one, everything's just fine."
"There are no monsters here, there is no need to fight."
If only she knew then, what she knew now... A daughter of a monster will never be quite right.
As I am posting this today, my boyfriend tells me this poem reminds him of a scylla. When I look it up, they are super cool. Wish I had known, I would have drawn that instead!
While the turtle is not a mermaid, he may be the best turtle I have ever drawn!
So Far So Good!
We are on day 6 and I am going to try to get them up this evening!
The full moon has kept me busy, especially getting ready for Samhain, but I am glad I am doing this challenge still! If you want to get in on it, you can find more information here at the Inktober Initiative
