This morning I woke up with the feeling of frost in my beard. I mean, not really frost, but dang close. It was -4 when I went out to do chores this morning!
I went out to feed the cows and everybody seemed to be moving slow this morning. I've said it many times before, they are plenty insulated and plenty warm, but man when it is this cold nothing wants to move. I called them up with some sweet mix to get their day started. It is hard to believe that our time here may be coming to an end.
It was a beautiful drive out to run some errands today though. Everything was frozen! The little trees on the sides of the road were white and frozen and everything looked like it was from a movie. I had to run to town this morning to mail out my latest knife to it's new address. The route I took was around the lake, so I got to see the frozen lake with 12 inches of snow on it.
There is something majestic about the cold and the snow. Everything seems to be quieter and almost like time stops. I do love the feeling of sitting on a warm beach and playing in the ocean, but I think that the north is where by blood belongs. We were talking about this as a family the other day, our DNA, and where our family is from. I have 89% in the northern european and Stacie D has DNA that is even further north. Maybe we were actually made for this type of weather.
I feel blessed that God has brought us to such an amazing place, and that we have the chance to experience it all. I don't mind living someplace where the air burns my face...atleast my blood isn't boiling and there are not venomous snakes haha.
Thanks for joining me today, and I hope you have an amazing and warm day!
Be well
