Found this little winged beastie in my kitchen the other day and thought it had pretty cool markings.
I didn't let it stay long and instantly helped it on its way once I'd snapped it so I could give the counter a good clean. Seems that wasn't a bad call!
Here we have Sarcophagidae which is derived from Greek and essentially means "flesh to eat". More commonly it's known as a flesh fly ... delightful! They like to eat dead or decaying stuff and lay live maggots instead of eggs.
I hope I don't see too many more of these little buggers around my crib!
