Live life to the fullest!!
I am writing this today to try to connect with people, no matter what point you are in life.
Life is such a precious commodity and it's gonna pass you by in the blink of an eye.
I reflect back on my childhood and think of how times were much more simple and life seemed to move so slow when I was awaiting school to end for summer Vacay.
I think of playing ball, early morning hockey practices, jumping ramps, school dances and swimming at the park.
I remember my High School sweetheart and the amazing feeling I got when I experienced love for the first time in my life.
Nothing up to this point in my life can ever replace those feelings of pure love and the innocence we shared.
I think of Christmas with my Grandparents, the singing, turkey dinner and always so much laughter.
I remember moving away from home for the first time and the excitement I felt and all the cool things I got to experience.
I would arrive back home for Holidays and instead of hanging out with the ones who loved me and stood by me the most,
I would go to the clubs and hang out and drink with my so-called best friends.
Don't get me wrong at the time I felt like it was amazing and I was having so much fun.
I guess what I'm saying is, I am nearing the midway point in my life or maybe I've passed it, who knows how long one will live.
I realize over the years as we grow older the people we love the most, get taken from us.
As the years go by we start to lose more and more people around us.
Let's just say the inner circle gets smaller.
You realize that family and your closest friends are really all that matters in life.
Yes, you want to stay happy and that is why I'm telling everyone to Live Life to The Fullest!!
No regrets, no what if's, Nike had it right with its slogan, Just do it!
I sold my TV 5 years ago and I'm amazed how much more I do and experience since I did.
Don't get trapped in a comfort zone. Go out for a walk, dance in the rain, walk the beach, take the dog for a walk.
I plan on learning to play a new instrument this year and learn to Salsa dance, try something new every day or at least once a month.
Take more vacations, work isn't everything and you can't take all your money with you.
Take in a movie, say good morning on the street, smile more often, Smell the flowers, kiss your spouse and kids goodbye.
Don't skip the fireworks so you can beat the traffic, one day you will wish you could see the fireworks just one last time.
When Mom or Dad calls your cell and you are busy or your maybe your friends are over, answer it, even if it's just for a few minutes, make sure you always say I love you every time they hang up.
One day you will wish to see Mom or Dad on your caller ID.
Plant a flower, fruit, veggie something and grow it and be proud when it blooms.
Make your bed, something I neglected when I was younger. I am amazed now how much better it truly looks in a room when the bed is made. It also starts the day on a positive note. Accomplishment!
You never know when someone may stop by especially if you are single. :)
If you married, plan a date night and yes get dressed up! If you are single plan on doing something new or going out once a week. You won't meet anyone at home on your couch.
Join a group or maybe a cooking class or art class. Whatever your passion is, find it!
Make music a part of your life, no matter what genre, If you are having a bad day play your happy songs and get your mind out of the funk.
The main thing is to have fun and try to think of one positive thing that happened in your day and also try to do one positive thing in your day that made someone else's day better because of what you did.
I'll end with one of my favourite quotes by Zig Ziggler. "If it is to be, It's up to me".
