We are surrounded by goddesses. Time to recognize.
Jasmine Fuego released the above music video yesterday in honor of International Women's Day. She celebrated womanhood by inviting the women in it - each of whom is personally connected to her - on stage to perform last night. So inspiring!
She reminded me: free people free people. Freedom exists only in relationship. If you're really free, you bring others along for the ride. So I heard from Lynice Pinkard in an amazing 40-minute talk about collective liberation Sunday.
Free people free people.
5 MILLION women went on strike in Spain for International Women's Day yesterday to demand equality. They were joined by millions of women and their allies all around the world.
Seeing women take to the streets to make the world better for all of us, I am moved to tears with inspiration. This Democracy Now episode shares the history of International Women's Day, and it's connection to the international struggle for justice.
Just three days ago West Virginia teachers won a 5% pay raise going on strike for 9 days in the U.S., shutting down the public school system. These teachers - 75% of whom are women - are so poorly supported they buy school supplies out of pocket. And they often buy food for their students, many of whom live hungry in poverty.
Free people free people.
That's what these women are doing: freeing people.
So if you're free, who are you bringing along for the ride?
