This morning, I decided to take a leisurely walk. There were no appointments and no phone calls, just me, the quiet street, and the golden touch of the sunrise.
That's when I noticed a small branch adorned with white blossoms, gently leaning into the morning light. The petals were not in a hurry to bloom; they simply opened up and allowed the sun to warm them at their own pace.
As a therapist, I am constantly reminded that humans are a lot like those blossoms. We don't heal instantly, and we don't bloom on cue. And that's perfectly okay.
Healing isn't about "getting over it"; it's about growing from it. Sometimes, it means sitting still. Sometimes, it means allowing yourself to cry. And sometimes, it means unexpectedly laughing at something small.
In therapy, we discuss the importance of creating "safe spaces" for ourselves, moments where we can just be. That’s what this morning felt like to me: a safe space and a reminder that life is still beautiful, even when everything feels difficult.
If you're reading this and feeling tired, overwhelmed, or unsure about your next step, I want to say to you:
🌿 You're allowed to rest.
🌿 You're allowed to take your time.
🌿 You're allowed to blossom slowly.
Let's take a pause today, notice the beauty right in front of us, and let the light in, even if just a little.
What small moment has brought you peace recently? I would love to hear your answer. 🌹
