Today's Scripture
"Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you." Proverbs 4:25
Thoughts for Today
Life is like a journey. It is like the journey the Israelites took when they were searching for the promised land. God promised Abraham and his descendants that He will give them a land flowing with milk and honey. This promised did not came to pass immediately but it took many years and generations. Abraham died while still wondering in tent, Isaac died too and eventually the people of Israelites became slaves to the Egyptians, and God sent Moses to call them come out of Egypt, and the people wondered in the wilderness many years, many died not seeing the promised land. Many lost faith and begin to doubt, they turned away from God and worshiped idols and sin againts God. They would rather trade God's promise for a temporal relieve instead of looking ahead and trusting in God's promises.
Just like the the Isralites people, when times are hard, it is easier for us to lose slight and hope, when times get difficult it is much easier to give up or compromise the truth for a lie. It is easier for us to focus on the difficult situation and get discourage. But God wants us to put our focus on Him. Not focusing on the distraction all around us, but rather focus on Him and His might.
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
As we run the race of life, help us to set our eyes upon You. You are the Author of life and You are also the finisher of it also. We thank you for the breath that you give us daily, we know it comes from You. You are our source of hope and strenght within us and it is by your grace that we will be able to finish this race and to bring glory onto You. We pray for the people struggling out there, we pray for your hand to be upon them, help them and deliver them. Help them to see that it is not with their own strenght but through you we can do all things. We praise You.
We ask this in Your Precious Name, Jesus. Amen!
