Intel said on Wednesday it intends to test a fleet of about 100 self-propelled trucks from this year following the acquisition of the Israeli company Mobileye, which specializes in anti-collision systems. Intel announced that it would test cars in Europe, Israel and U.S.
Building a fleet "of cars and testing them in real conditions will provide immediate results, which will accelerate the implementation of new technologies and solutions for vehicles."
Many car manufacturers and technology companies have been focusing their efforts for some years on the development of vehicles without driver based on programs that prevent accidents. Apple, for example, is currently testing its technology in California.
