Not many here on Steemit have maybe heard about this story, that's why I wanted to share it as it properly portrays how evil the internet can be under circumstances, but also how quickly it can turn around and bring optimism and justice where it is deserved.
As you might know Keemstar from Drama-alert and other drama that followed, this was one of the things he did that made me absolutely lose all respect for him.
He has a lot of followers and once he thought he had done some major detective work on this one inmate that also used to play Runescape and was in prison for having relations with a Teenager, he had all his fans go over to another 62 year old streamer that was playing Runescape to raid, spam, threaten and just be assholes to a streamer who had done nothing wrong.
Even though I would've wanted to share the story myself and write it all down, I think I wouldn't do it much justice with my english and writing skills, so I'd rather post a video of Youtube user Scarce who made a reddit thread about the incident and helped turn it around. He explains it much better than I could in his video:
Oh man, even watching that video again now after so long, it still brought chills down my spine and just made me sad in general... People can be so nasty if they are on their Justice Warrior horses thinking they are doing the right thing.
Thankfully after people started watching Scarce's video (and I'm sure he helped out a lot in general with this situation) the next day they raided his twitch channel again but this time he was crying tears of joy instead of sadness. If you got really down from the last video, this one will make up for it!
This is one of my favorite internet stories and the reason why I wanted to share it with you all.
I have been on vacation the last 2 weeks, coming back and seeing all drama that is unfolding here on Steemit, it kinda makes me a little sad as well. I know much of this attitude and negativity come organically from a sinking price of the asset, but for all others who just want to troll and bring dirt to users or projects who don't deserve it. I just want to say that the good will concur in the end, and all drama that is unfolding will be nothing but a slight memory in most users minds.
Thanks for reading and I hope you liked this internet-story I shared today. Follow me if you don't want to miss my future posts. Have a great weekend everyone. :)
