Life is like a bumpy road, where there are lots of obstacles and hindrances that might come along our journey.
Hello! Good day, Hivers! As a newbie to this platform, it is my pleasure to introduce myself and get along with other hivers in the long run. Just call me “selfless gem”, I am 30 years old and happily connected with myself towards the uncertainties of the world. I’ve been working as a public school teacher for nine years, in one of the developing schools in the Northern part of Cebu.
I came from a family of farmers. My parents work hard for us to be educated and to have a better future. With the help, and perseverance of my parents, I became a teacher by profession. Studying hard and working with determination makes me reach this position.
Life was never that easy. I was grown by my parents in one of the barangays in Tabogon (one of the northern municipalities here in Cebu). Living here makes me understand what life is. I and my family engage in farming to earn a living.
My parents then happily raised animals like pigs, goats, chickens, and cows for them to sell and earn money to provide us with our needs. We are happy in our place except that we don’t have enough water supply that can cater to our needs. During summer, people fetch water from the deep well to use for daily consumption. I am not born rich, but I am happily contented with what we have. Together we created long-lasting memories.

More about me!
Family: I am a family-oriented person. I do believe that loving your family and giving them time is the most precious thing to do while they are still alive and kicking. Sometimes my friends would tell me that I am selfless because I would prioritize the things they need, rather than buying something for my own. I love to help even if I don’t have that much. Seeing them happy makes my heart flutter and happy as well. I feel like I am the happiest whenever I helped people.
This picture was taken while we were having dinner together in the port area. These faces show how happy we were eating and chatting together.

The following are my passion which I'll be sharing in my future blogs:
Creating crafts: I love to do things on my own like creating cute stuff and following DIY videos. For instance, room decorations, souvenirs, and giveaways which I usually do with a twist of my style. Recently, I created a souvenir for the debut of my cousin. Seeing my piece of art and style is very fulfilling to me. Moreover, receiving compliments from family and friends because of your simple creativity can give me a satisfying feeling.
Another sample craft that I made is a simple glittered letter for the 1st birthday of my niece. I am so happy with the outcome. This is my first time trying to make this glittered letter.
Hobbies: Aside from creating crafts, I do love dancing, cooking, and baking (though not perfect for I don’t have an oven). I am not an expert, but as the saying goes, “nobody is perfect”, I continue learning and improving myself. During pandemic, I baked a lot with the use of a cauldron or broiler. Though it’s not perfect yet I am happy seeing myself and doing the things I love the most.
Sometimes, when boredom strikes, I enjoy dancing. Dancing for me is not just an exercise but also a stress reliever.
Traveling: I do enjoy traveling. I want to travel around and discover the beauty of nature, but I am not born into an affluent family. Working hard to save up for me is the only thing I can do to go to places I love. Of course, going to places where I could see nature with fewer expenses is awesome! When I am tired and stressed out, traveling helps me a lot. It gives me peace of mind and restores my energy.
I have been to different places here in Cebu, but when I visited Bantayan Island, my eyes and heart melt away because of the awesome view and the white sand beaches it offers. Walking along in the vast seashore makes my stress carried out as the waves touch my feet. It feels so relaxing, sitting down on the shore, enjoying the view while the sun sets in the west.
Another place which my heart leaps with so much joy the first time I saw it is “Buwakan ni Alejandra” in Balamban, Cebu. The awesome view of flowers, and the landscape will make your eyes jump with happiness. It was an overwhelming experience!
During weekends and holidays, I usually go out with friends too, find time to relax, and go to places with fewer expenses.
I love to watch the city lights, another place that I love to visit again is the “TOPS”. It could be found also in Cebu City. But it was closed for renovation. You can take pictures of the entire city with its awesome lights at night.
Sometimes on my travel, I ride on my friend's motorcycle to somehow lessen the expenses.
