Hello to all from #Cracow! My name is Michał, and after a long time here with no posts, I want to change that a bit. Here is a short intro, so you could know who are you talking with. Feel free to contact, ask more about stories covered here and about anything that would interest you.
As you can see, I was a damn good looking guy already at about 5. I was growing up in Bobowa, small town in Southern Poland, which is known for handmade bobbin lace (or however it is translated - very unique method of doing nice stuff from threads wound on spools) and for its Hasidic dynasty of Rabbis, who have their own sub-branch of Hasidic tradition. Most of the descendants are living in NY. Region is very nice, having a lot of hills, mountains, and some historical background. Major battle during WW1 happened nearby (Gorlice 1915), there were trade routes from Poland to Hungary over there, and in 1409 local knights left of for a war with Teutonic Knights and took part in known Grunwald 1410 battle. Uff, for a small town with about 3k people its a lot of history. Maybe one day I'll tell more about it, but right now moving on.
I am doing some IT/consultancy work (studied Industrial Computer Science, hard stuff though), but I am also a scouting instructor. I was scout as a kid, took some time off, and came back around 2017/2018, in time for some nice event called National Jamboree, where I had an pleasure to supervise 3 groups of polish scouts and to be a host for scouts from Saudi Arabia. After 10 days, their leader was speaking Polish in the way, that he was teaching leader of Swedish group how to tell "Hug me" in Polish. I am still proud.
Last year (2022) I took a four-months leave, to take a walk. It started on my birthday from my family home, and ended 111 days later in Santiago de Compostela in spain. Over 3600 km, over 5 milions steps. This pilgrimage was a n life-defining experience. I will definitely write more on that, on many occasions.
I am also part of , but unfortunately I do not visit the place as much as I would like to. Still, I love the vibe there. I awe this place for all the initiatives and the people that you can meet there. Me writing this post is as well inspired by what
is doing here.
For my plans here, I'd love to use this space to verbalise my thoughts and share them with you. I've already started writing a book about Camino, I am also planning to get some other ideas realized, and I believe this is a place that can help me with this.
Many adventures happened, many are still to go - so let's travel together, and see the wonders that world offers us!
