My name is Julie and I'm excited to be here and to begin exploring. I'm particularly intrigued by the content/creation aspect of this site, as I've recently become highly dissatisfied with Facebook getting clogged up with politics and "news". I'm just not into that.
I AM interested in lots of other things and am looking forward to connecting with people with similar interests. I travel extensively for work. Well, I suppose it's more accurate to say that I'm a wandering American ex-pat, since my contracts are usually one year in length. I am currently in Okinawa, Japan and am loving it. I'm a devout foodie, explorer of nature, photo documenter, and lover of learning. I've recently gotten into snorkeling and stand-up paddle boarding (perks of living on a subtropical island). One of my favorite things to do while traveling is to try new foods, the good, the bad and the disgustingly daring. I sometimes dabble in poetry, mostly haiku, in English and Japanese, but I don't much fancy myself a poet or a writer.
I'm not very Steem savvy just yet (honestly, it's a tad bit overwhelming at first), but hopefully with time I'll get there. I'm looking forward to connecting, sharing, and enjoying meaningful content with everyone.
