I guess I will try to introduce myself to the steemit community. My main goal is to improve my written English and learn new things. I found that researching topics and write about them is the best way to learn. I am Italian but I lived abroad for a few years now. Considering how bad was my English when I first started I think I've already make noticeable progress, but I strive to get to the next level. I am an academic and for my job I have to write a lot. Unfortunately for people in this field it's not enough to convey a message, you have to be good at writing and at communicating your research, it's a though environment and even if you have knowledge nobody will take you seriously if you don't communicate well. About my interests, my nickname is probably a good hint about what's coming in my posts, I love reading and writing about science.
I know it's a broad term, but also the range of topics that interest me is vast so I guess it's ok to leave the term "science" and for now there is no reason to narrow it down to a few disciplines. There is more that I like and my posts won't be limited to scientific topics. I grew up surrounded by history (I lived in Italy and my dad works in a museum) so I like history in general. I like reading historical fiction and also memoirs of characters that played crucial roles in historical events.
I also like finance. When I started working as a consequence I started also saving some money and I like to learn and talk about money and how to invest them. I realize this is not a topic that interest many people. I know everyone would like to make money but very few people take actual steps to learn more about them. Most people just want to make money quick and without effort. I guess these people won't be interested in what I will write, but that's ok.
I guess since I don't have many followers this will be a hollow post as not many people will actually read it, if you read it unitl now here there is a photo of my hometown, Matera.
