Hey there! My name is Bert, born in Belgium 23 years ago and currently enjoying beautiful Bulgaria.
Do you want to know how i changed my life from being close to homeless, to an entrepreneur with a future perspective?
Follow my journey in becoming an independent event manager, who puts his love for music and art always upfront.
It started somewhat 23 years ago, when this fellow saw his first light on a hot late summer night.
My parents were teenage lovers and i had a brother who had just turned 4, exactly one month before!
I don't really remember to much from the first year, I suppose no one does. But if look at pictures I always seemed to be happy, unfortunately not every one smiled.
My mother was and is still a very strong women, You know those WWII signs, that showed a picture of a women showing her muscles? Well that's mom :)
In other words, she was very free. My dad however joined the Royal Military School, at the age of 16
I don't blame anyone for anything... but everyone knew that it would not last. So at the age of 5 years, I found mom crying in her bed, while dad took the bed in the attic.
A few days later, or even the same day, I don't really remember, watched dad leaving to his army base.
He did not left my brother and myself, we spend most of our childhood at his farm.
Both of them got remarried. My stepdad Rik, is a giant friendly prison guard, who is still in love with my mom like on the first day. Dad married to, one time with the army, and one time with my stepmom. Who was... guess what: Also in the military. The atmosphere was tensed at the farm, and every other weekend we visited mom and Rik, which was always a little vacation. Nothing but good memories in that small house. I still like going back there, even now when I'm abroad.
I guess those two different situations, made me the guy I am today. I can't say the connection with dad is easy, but I respect him and i am very proud to have him as an example. His stubborn and cold side make that I know what it is to work hard, and never surrender. While mom taught me how to love, laugh and enjoy life. That's why I got a heart tattooed on my arm, that says mom. I still have to think about a tattoo that represents dad, Maybe you guys could help me with that.
I'm just starting so please help me grow by commenting, sharing and upvoting my post.
