Friends, Steemiters, countrymen, lend me your ears;
My name is Allan Steele. I am a brand-new Steemit user, as ignorant about this world as a newborn babe. I have never done any kind of serious blogging before but someone I know with a reputation for prescience seemed to think this site is big stuff. So here I am!
I am a professional classical musician by trade, but my interests and hobbies are varied, ranging from gourmet cooking to philosophy to self-help writing to cultural/political commentary and many other things.
I have often thought about putting down my thoughts and discussions on an online forum of some kind where I could receive feedback, but this is my first attempt. I am going to keep up a weekly post at first, regarding current events and various cultural observations, and then adapt with the feedback I receive.
I would like to ask you for some advice and then some general thoughts. Although I will be foraging this site in an attempt to get to know it better, I prefer getting information from individuals in a conversation.
Firstly, if you have any great tips regarding use of the site, whether technical or etiquette, I am all ears.
Secondly, if you have a particular topic that you feel is not discussed to the degree it should be, I am extremely interested to hear about it, and I will try my best to weave it into my output.
Thirdly, thank you for reading! And I hope you continue to read my posts, as I can assure you they will be stimulating beyond the capabilities of the human mind, and failure to give me money will result in a life filled with utter nihilism and despair in which all of your passions and dreams collapse into ash.
