The Future was up for Grabs
What a change in events it has been these past eight months. Back in January I was struggling, I was discouraged with my career, I was deciding whether to go to medical school to pursue "my dreams", and I was broke! For a while I was trying to convince myself to continue in the route of medicine; until...you know how they say everyone has a calling? Well... now it has been exactly one week since I have resigned my position at a hospital and have forgone a career in medicine in the pursuit in a career in Blockchain technology.
Wait, its digital currency?
Yeah, all it took was stumbling into Bitcoin. After doing some research and a self-evaluation I could not pass up on the opportunity to be a part of the next evolution in technology. But still, Bitcoin is just digital currency...right? No Bitcoin is much more that a digital currency. For a while it seemed like community was interested in developing a currency that would catch on like Bitcoin or even surpass it. Although, people are still looking for that cryptocurrency, I have noticed a change in thinking over the past few months.
Enter the Blockchain
Under the hood of Bitcoin is the Blockchain. I won't get into it right now. But wow, I am sure like a lot of people it is amazing how we are able to blog on this platform and get compensated for our work. The Blockchain promises to bring decentralization and trust back into the fold. It promises to "eliminate" the middleman. Although, I still do think there will be "middle men" in the future, just not as many.
So, I resigned from my position last week because I am pursing my law degree at the Villanova and I plan on tailoring my studies in sectors that I believe will benefit from the integration of the Blockchain. In future posts I will touch on business sectors that I believe are most likely to utilize the technology and platforms that could benefit us directly on daily basis. I look forward contributing to this community, as I do believe we are among the earliest stages to something great. More work needs to be done and I am ready to contribute.
