Hello, I’m Anne!
Trying something new can thrill me to learn things I haven’t learned before. That’s why I am really intrigued in joining Hive and knowing others’ insights about things that can make them delighted. Additionally, I want to connect with people and learn from them how they overcome the challenges they have, the tourist spots that are popular, the way they cook their own food, their culture, and most importantly how they overcome difficult situations and their ways of conquering them.
ALL ABOUT ME
By the way, you can call me Anne, I am married with one son. I had teaching experience with Japanese students as an English Teacher. I’m currently working in the Department of Education as a teacher. After many years of applying to the organization, I was just hired last September 2022.
My hobbies are cooking, traveling, exercising, watching videos or television, and singing. I’ve loved cooking since I was young. I was the one who was assigned to cook every day and even in married life, I am still the one who cooks for my family. During my pastime, I watch YouTube vlogs and dramas on television for stress-free.
As a single woman before, I traveled to Boracay, Bohol, Bantayan Island, and Cebu South Philippines. Even though I am married, I’d still love to travel, and my plan is to travel outside the Philippines with my family. Traveling makes me happy and learn fascinating things.
I went to Boracay Island after my graduation from college. My sister treated me to travel to Boracay because I graduated with honors and have consistency in maintaining my grades for being an academic scholar at the University. Boracay Island is a very stunning tourist spot in the Philippines. Boracay has a wide seashore. We went to Station 2-3 in Boracay Beach because there are a lot of restaurants and we’ve seen people who perform in the seashore. They are dancing with fire in their hands. Some are doing karaoke. Some are making sandcastles.
Secondly, I went to Bohol Island. There are many beautiful spots there. One of those is the chocolate hills. I had seen there the famous animal in Bohol which is the tarsier. I visited the butterfly sanctuary and the famous beaches there in Bohol.
Third is Bantayan Island in Northern Cebu, Philippines. We went to Sta. Fe bantayan island with my family. The beach is fantastic there because it has a long seashore and white sand. The water is so clear. We stayed at Marlin’s Beach Resort because it is near the market. It takes minutes to walk. The resort is wonderful because of the nice view.
Lastly, I went to South part of Cebu which is Oslob. The famous Whale Shark. The people there pay at the entrance and swim with the whale shark. However, I haven’t gone there just passing by. I only went to the Islet of Oslob because there’s someone recommended me.
CHALLENGES BEFORE AND AFTER MARRIED LIFE
During the Covid-19 pandemic, I had many struggles that I had encountered. One of those, being a jobless one. I went home because I was afraid of the virus. I decided to quit my job and went to our hometown in Northern Cebu. It is not crowded because there are few people living there because of being a mountainous kind of place. I was thinking that I would be safe if I go home. Then I felt safe and secure at that time because I’m with my family.
Regardless, I met my boyfriend who decided to marry me. Then, we had a civil wedding. When I had my labor with my son, I had a caesarian because my baby is big. My doctor advised me to have a caesarian as soon as possible because my baby’s heartbeat is slow. My husband was tense because he worried about what might happen to me and the baby.
CHALLENGES BEFORE ENTERING TEACHING LIFE
I applied many times to the Department of Education because there was no vacancy. It was challenging for me because I badly need the job. I felt disappointed, especially during the pandemic. Also, my parents gave me discouraging words. As we all know, people need permanent jobs in the government to be secured. So, I apply again when my son was a one-month-old.
I took the English Proficiency Test at Daanbatayan School which is a little bit far from our place and brought my son because I needed to breastfeed him. After all, I received the good news that I was one of the qualified applicants in the ranking. I was overwhelmed to know that I was one of the applicants who could receive an appointment to be a permanent government teacher. I was happy because it takes a walk from home to my designated school. I was thinking that God gives us perfect timing, all we need to do is to wait for his better plan. At that time, my family is happy and proud of me.
