Hello fellow readers,
Beautiful, isn't it?
Well, not exactly:
First , look at that colorgrading: The ground is purple, the sky's tinting towards purple as well and it between "yellowish". A designer's nightmare in means of color palettes.
Second, we all know nothing is perfect, but couldn't have the photographer tried a liiittle bit harder? I mean, these curved lines could've been better, won't you agree? :eyes:
I was so sure that this photo isn't worth :poop:, when I say it the first time on my DSLR, that I did the colorgrading just as a lousy experiment. You know, the ones you do with the photos you don't really see going through the shredder?
I uploaded it to my 500px page to see how the photography community will react. And I was right by that time. It didn't get the usual exposure and I thought I've moved on.
Not long after my phone starts blowing off with notifications. Got the Editor's Choice badge. Woah, that's nice and all, but for this photo, really?! And I forgot about it later that week. Not until I recieved this:
Congrats on making this photo to windows 10 lock screen
Wait, what?! And another row of notifications, my phone just turned off this time. I was euphoric!
Did I make a sale to Microsoft ?!
I guess I did! And there was the purchase email from 500px to confirm it. Later that week I spread the news and I started receiving screenshots of people's lockscreens with the photo on it. I was amazed!
Then the "What if" part came in play. What if I didn't play around with it and sent it directly to the bin? Didn't try my luck on the site to see how it will go or deleted it the next day?
The message that I want to spread is: Never throw all ideas, before you've tried them to some point. It's not that much effort to just TRY!
Good luck everybody, hope Steemit community is as nice as it looks like at first glance!
