Now that I know how to use Steemit better I wanted to take a moment to make a proper introduce yourself post
Hola a todos desde Costa Rica. Steemit me parece un excelente lugar para compartir.
Now on to the intro.
So, this is me and my family. We are lucky to live in a country like Costa Rica. It is certainly a pretty small country, but our biodiversity is out of this world.
We obviously have issues as a country, but when you see what happens in other places like Venezuela, Syria, etc you have to be pretty thankful. None of us choose where we are born, so I am lucky to be in a generally great place.
I want to take a couple of minutes to share some pics I've taken over the years. I love photography, specially panos. Although recently I've been in a slump because the last trip I took I lost damaged 2 lenses, including my favorite one. :-) Because that was my all around lens, I have just reduced my SLR use a bunch.
This is one of my favorite pics. It is actually not that far from our house, probably 5 miles at most. There are some beautiful sunsets to be captured from that spot and we can actually see the Pacific ocean away in the distance, even though San Jose is about 100km away from the coast.
This is another beautiful place, called Arenal volcano that is not that far away from San Jose. Probably a 3 hour drive at most.
It truly is a picture perfect volcano. Probably the mental image that everyone usually has.
Arenal is a great place to go to and we try to get there at least once every 2 years. The thermal waters and the relaxed ambiance makes it a relaxing trip.
Another place that my wife and I have enjoyed a lot is Rio Celeste. You can hike to these falls and they really are as blue as the pic. Rio Celeste means Sky Blue River
This last pic I also loved. It is a sunset in a place called Tamarindo. About 4 hour drive from San Jose. A lot of people say Tamarindo has one of the world's best sunsets. The number of tourist hanging around the beach waiting to see it probably give the argument credit.
Tamarindo is certainly a lively beach, certainly not my favorite in Costa Rica, but nice. There is a lot of nightlife and good places to eat.
Well, I hope I gave folks a little taste of our small country.
Love to hear some feedback.
Pura Vida.
