Hi everyone! My name is Ariel Calma from the province of Laguna here in the Philippines. I’m happily married with 3 kids. I stay here in Manila during week days and go back home during weekends to be with my family. I used to travel by my small motorcycle.I’m currently working as a call center agent.
I’ve been on this industry for more than 3 years. Before I’ve been on a call center industry I worked as a virtual assistant. One of my friends named Arvin introduced me to the world of online jobs like in elance.com, odesk.com and fiverr.com. I didn’t got any customers in elance and odesk due to high competition. Since Arvin has a good credentials and high reputation on those websites so he asked me to work for him as his assistant and I did. At the same time I also posts some gigs on fiverr during my spare time and luckily I got some customers and earned a bit. Things didn’t work out that long for us. Sometimes he has a lot of customers and sometimes there’s a day he doesn’t have any and it means a lost for him since he used to pay me for my daily rate not for every customers or project. Later I decided to work at home alone instead of Arvin’s office. He also introduced me to one of his loyal customers for me to start my own. One time my wife asked me to work on company to get a regular salary than working online since it’s not stable. So that’s the time I started to apply for a job and got into this industry of BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) as a call center agent.
My wife and I are dreaming of traveling around the world and eat different types of food on different countries we’re going to be with. Due to financial problem it’s still a dream.Lol..haha.. My earnings today is enough to support my family but our dream of traveling out of the country seems impossible since what I earn is just for our food, clothes and other things we needed for our everyday lives.
Just a week ago I saw Arvin and he said hey, I’ve found a website where you can post blogs and earn money. Then he said it’s “steemit” then he entered his car and drove away after saying the most wonderful word I heard on that day. So when I went back home, I search on google and spent more than 3 hours of reading for me to know about the basics then signed up for an account. Luckily I got approved after 7 days of waiting. I was so impressed to this platform on how it works and how it earns money.
I always feel excited reading articles especially the travel blogs in which I wish I could also do. One thing I learned from reading about the basic strategies is to follow the best persons on this community for me to learn more. The first thing comes to my mind is to travel and explore my own country before I’ll go out the country. Maybe I can use my motorcycle and travel somewhere near since Philippines has a lot of beautiful places to offer. So STEEMIANS! Please help me out to pursue our dreams!
