Allow me to RE-INTRODUCE myself (In my JAY-Z Voice! )!!! Hi Everyone! I'm Nicole!
I’ve been on here for a little less than a week. I wrote my first introduction post within my first 5 minutes of using the site. Now that I have been here for a week, I wanted to say hello once again and update you all on my first week of Steemit.
- I am ADDICTED already! No, like seriously addicted. I don’t think I have even looked at Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter more than two or three times in the past 6 days. Now, every chance I get to get on social media during the day is spent checking in on Steemit. Since they don’t have a automatic notifications system yet (like Facebook or Instragram) I find myself on the site even more than I used to be on the other social media platforms, because I have to manually go check to see who replied to me, who posted something new, etc. etc. No worries, I’m not complaining, I love it anyways!
- I am still trying to figure out exactly HOW CRYPTOCURRENCY WORKS. I love all of the posts I have read that explain this a little bit more since I am new to cryptocurrency. Keep up the good work and keep the posts coming. I can’t speak for everyone else, but I can certainly say I am reading each one that I come across as I try to learn about the fabulous world of cryptocurrency.
- I’ve met a few AWESOME PEOPLE so far. The ones I have met are really nice and have supported and commented on some of my posts as a newbie, which I found to be encouraging.
are some of them just to name a few! Thank you guys and gals and I look forward to continuing to connect with you all and connecting with more new people as well. After all, that is a very important aspect of any social media platform right?!?!
- I love the POSITIVITY here on Steemit and the informative posts. Other social media sites seem to have a lot of posts that lack substance (I won’t say lack purpose because to each person purpose is defined differently). I have noticed that much more than other sites, people here on Steemit put time, thought, and effort into their posts. I love it and again, I truly enjoy reading all of the posts. I have actually learned a lot from people’s posts here on Steemit. I love photography and I’ve seen a lot of posts with awesome photographs, like one I read yesterday from
that I could relate to since I am someone who carries a DSLR camera around as a hobby (I’m far from being a Professional in this area --but I am practicing more and working on my skills) ! I’ve read awesome travel posts that inspire even a well-traveled individual like myself to keep on travelling. I have also read some very inspirational posts about people’s personal lives, and although I don’t know them personally I can almost feel like I know them through their posts. You get my point, the platform is truly awesome!
- I’m still confused as far as UPVOTING/DOWNVOTING and the REWARDS. To simplify it for myself I’ve equated it to Facebook likes. The complicated part for me is how the rewards are tied to the voting. I haven’t downvoted anything, but I definitely have upvoted a lot of valuable posts I have read on Steemit. Anyone who can further explain upvoting/downvoting and how the rewards are tied in, I would love to read about it and learn more!
- I've been Spreading the word with others about Steemit. I was actually at dinner last night and creating a Steemit post on my phone, and decided to tell the Waitress about it. She looked at me like I was crazy and then I made it very simple for her. I asked "do you use Facebook or Twitter?" She replied "Yes I do" I said, "Then you will LOVE Steemit!" Needless to say, she told me she would create an account after she got off of work last night. I look forward to seeing her join as well as any others I have told about Steemit! I will continue to spread the word as I really hope this platform continues to grow!
All in all, I'm glad to be here on Steemit and I look forward to reading many more awesome posts and sharing some of my life and experiences with you as well!
