Hi fellow Steemians,
My name is Bart Cant. I am the Blockchain community leader for Capgemini and I have been following the Steemit and Bitshares community for a while now. So I feel it is more than time that I am introducing myself here to the Steemit community.
?
Being a Blockchain community leader means that I get to do every day what I have been so interested in for the last few years. So where did I get started ?
It must have been 3 years ago now that I started a new project in Silicon Valley, California for my employer Capgemini, a large consulting provider. At that time I was introduced to Bitcoin and some other very early initiatives in Blockchain. I was so fascinated by it that every week after work I traveled Highway 101 to San Francisco and met some of the most intelligent developers and entrepreneurs at the local Bitcoin events and meetups.
I immediately realized that this technology would be transformational for Financial Services and started to investigate and learn as much as I could. As many other crypto currency enthusiasts, I tried to explain Bitcoin and Blockchain to my friends and colleagues and founded an innovation group, called the "SatorshiRoundtable" within Capgemini. Initially a lot of education was needed, but gradually we started to experiment and build blockchain solutions for the financial services clients we consult for.
Today I am proud to say that at Capgemini we have created a community of about 500 business and IT technologists interested in everything cryptocurreny and blockchain and more and more colleagues are joining every day.
At the same time I am introducing myself here at Steemit, I am also introducing Steemit to the larger Capgemini Blockchain community. As a Blockchain community we meet every week to discuss important events and developments in the crypto community and work with banks and capital markets firms on Blockchain tech. During one of our events last year, we had Dan Larimer () join us to give us an overview of the graphene technology from Bitshares , which later was used in Steemit. Through this community we follow the developments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitshares, Steemit and other blockchain communities. And as many experience, we never have a dull moment !
For people who do not know Capgemini, we are one of the largest business and technology services providers in the world. You can find some more information in the link below -

Lastly, quick shout out to from beyondbitcoin podcast who has a weekly mumble session discussing Steemit and other Bitshares technologies ( including blockpay and peerplays)
Keep up the good work Steemit. I see you are getting more and more traction and we are watching...
Cheers
Bart
