My name is Bassey, Bassey Peter. I am a young man in my late twenties feeling like I am very old already. My colleagues call me 'g prayo' while others call me 'g md' because of my role as the prayer secretary and music director of the Christian fellowship I belong to. I am a reticent fellow.
I love to think more than talk, to be at the background. I am the fourth child in a family of seven. I am a graduate of agricultural engineering from the prestigious University of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom Sate, Nigeria. I am from the same state.
I am cooling off in Abejukolo, Kogi state presently undergoing my compulsory service year with the NYSC(National Youth Service Corp).
My parents are typical Nigerian parents who believe that a child must be very serious with school to be successful in life. Mr. & Mrs. Peter Emmanuel Bassey brought me to this world of never ending wonders and have nurtured me.
This nurture has included some mind resetting slaps and pats. My dad was the lion of the tribe. We scampered for cover many time we heard his footsteps. So, we naturally got to know the sound of his footsteps, bicycle, motorcycle, car and even his silence.
My mother was and is very hardworking. If there is any woman who wants to be motivated not to give up on training three children alone, I introduce to you my dear mother. My dad has been a baker, 'fisherman' and a palm oil merchant.
While my mum has been a trader on cooking oil and ingredients.
My childhood was a bit challenging. My challenge was that I was shy and I wondered how other kids managed to act drama and participate in debates. I can also remember being challenged when some girls in my class could spell from eleven to twenty and I could only stop at ten.
I enjoyed school because I hardly failed my examinations but I can't remember really reading.
I love to read, listen to music and sing. Teaching is also a hobby but I enjoy it only when I am very conversant with the subject. I want to add preaching and praying to my hobbies.
I came to know about STEEMIT from a promoter extraordinaire, . He is my brother by blood.
has told me in a too interesting way how wonderful this community is and I am sure I will love it here.
I cannot forget to tell this beautiful community that I have a best friend. My life story is not complete without her. She is lady but is so into me like a male friend. I am grateful I have a friend like her and I am not afraid to call her my friend.
She is homely and comely and an example of that virtuous woman that was talked about in the bible.
I will, by the grace of God, contribute my quota to this great community.
STEEMIT is life and I am here to improve on that life.
