Hello, I'm new to the Steemit platform and wanted to introduce myself. I'm college student who is pursuing a career in business. I've known about cryptocurrencies since 2013 when bitcoin was around $120. I was one of the many people who did not believe in bitcoin at the time, so I did not buy any coins (which is now one of the biggest regrets I have). It wasn't until the latter part of 2016 where i really started to dive deeper in the world of the cryptocurrencies. I strongly believe that the main currencies (bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin etc..) are great investments and that their values will reach higher peaks in the long run. With that being said, no one really knows what will happen, for all we know, the price could fall to zero. That's a risk that most of us are willing to take.
This brings me to my main topic: Getting friends and family into cryptocurrencies. Most of my friends do not believe in the crypto markets and always tell me that it's "very risky" and not worth the investment. However i believe that holding dollars in a bank account is a bigger risk. The dollar has no value, and during a recession, all the stored money will depreciate in value. That being said, I do know of a couple of friends who do have cryptocurrencies and who actually have made a decent profit of it. I've gotten some of my family into buying a few ethereum when the price was $150. Now they are feeling like did when I skipped out on bitcoin in 2013!
I'd like to know how you guys got into bitcoin and some tips on how to get friends and family into bitcoin and other altcoins.
Thank you for reading,
Looking forward to hear from you guys!
