Here's a photo of me with the steemit thing to prove I am who I am, I never really did this at the start.
Well, it's been roughly 6 weeks that Racheal and I have been actively on steemit and I thought I'd take a little moment for reflection about where we are at the moment. I have no doubt you will hear from Racheal in relation to her views and thoughts.
Yes steemit is a great platform and, as with many of you, I came across it whilst throwing my hand into a little crypto exploration. The allure that you can attain instant gratification (well 7 day wait) from rewards is what I believe attracts many to the platform, unfortunately with that comes a little of the scum of society, that use this platform to exploit, be disingenuous, plagiarise and not add value to the platform.
I'm not going to lie, I too was lured in by the idea that there is a little cash to be made. Trying different little angles here and there through our almost 50 posts, I have learnt a lot about the steemit community and what it is trying to achieve. I hope one day it will be big and a new social norm but there are several areas that still need to be addressed and there is a weighing on the fact if the crypto-world does not take off, then steemit like many other coins will perish into oblivion and end up like in the realms of myspace.
So as our intro suggests, we blog about anything really but do have some passions. Racheal is a talented and gifted writer with and natural aptitude to engage with the audience. For me, well it is all very new and very fun. It has really allowed me to get back into some old favourite hobbies of mine.
So let's just break down quickly what I believe my blogs will be about, yes there will be some eclectic ones thrown in there also but...
Hungover Delights; By far my favourite, we're up to 5 now and this has really allowed me to get back into cooking and experimenting a bit. The premise is simple, easy, tasty and comforting food to make if you are feeling like you need a little bit of love from the carb monster. In no way are these meals healthy (well not all) so if you're a fitness freak, don't bother.
Guess this place for the jackpot; Well a new edition but an opportunity to have some fun and potentially draw in a bit of a following (not going to lie), throwing up a random photo with people who can get it right earning a jackpot that rolls over week to week. Yes, I do scan google now that the photos are not easily traced back..
London attractions; Starting slow on this one, but going to try and post a little bit about London and all its glory, I live here, so why not.
The rest, as I have mentioned, is going to be random for the time being, till we properly find our feet and get an idea what benefits our readers and what the community enjoys.
On a personal note, so we can get to know each other, who am I?
I'm a country lad at heart, just breached my 30's and live in London now after a 10 year stint in Melbourne, oohhh I'm Polish also.
Love travel, wine, food and any adventure or new learning opportunity. Work in the restaurant industry and am pretty care free. Training for an ironman at the moment, which is both an interesting and stressful time; and I'm trying to pave my little path in life generally. Found out I'm not the Warren Buffet I thought I was when it came to investing ... when they say; don't play with more than you can afford and be careful of leverage, they are generally trying to protect you!
What can I say to new steemit users? Be genuine and write your interests. This is not a get rich quick game. Do your research, there are various articles that can help you advance and grow more efficiently ( with https://steemit.com/steemit/@aboundlessworld/14-tips-for-steemit-newbies-i-wish-i-knew-when-starting ) is one to get you started. Don't plagiarise, you will get caught, so give credit where credit is due.
Enjoy my fellow steemians.
