Hello, my name is Boris from Zagreb, Croatia. I've been a fan of krypto for a few years and recently stumbled upon Steemit. I have a diploma in telecommunication technology and absolutely love to travel! I know there are a lot of travel enthusiasts here so in my first post i would want to introduce my country to you.
Although it is relatively small compared to the other European countries it packs a punch. Located east of Italy, and shares Adriatic sea with them. It has over one thousand islands, 1244 to be precise, and 8 national parks! It's relatively unknown in the world compared to Hawaii, Spain or Thailand but every year it has more and more tourist who come here on the vacation because of it's pristine beauty and crystal clear sea.
That's exactly how I would describe Steemit right now. Relatively unknown to the broader market, but every day collecting more and more users due to it's superiority to the other social platforms :)
There's something for everyone in Croatia, whether you like to party or have a casual family vacation.
Here's some of the many beautiful places:
Plitvice lakes
One of the eight national parks, under UNESCO protection. Composed of 16 lakes. Largest national park in Croatia and also the oldest in southeast europe.
Zlatni rat beach, Brač
Zlatni rat beach is located on the island Brač, near the town of Bol. It's one of the best and most famous beaches in Croatia. It spans over a 1000 meters in length. Another interesting fact abouth this beach is that it shapeshifts, so it can look different (it depends on the bearing of the wind).
Arena, Pula
Croatia was under the influence of Roman Empire so we haw a lot of ancient buildings. One of the most famous is arena in the city of Pula. During summer days it is the place of cultural and musical happenings.
Dubrovnik
If anybody has heard of Croatia it must be because of Dubrovnik. It's an old town surrounded by big and thick walls used as defense against the pirates. It's the most visited place in Croatia with aprox. 2 million tourists in 2015.
And it's not coincidence . It offers many cultural and historical values. It's also known for Game of thrones series, used to film scenes of Kings landing.
Croatia is also home of summer Ultra music festival which attracts thousands of visitors who seek a good party.
