Hello fellow Steemians!
I am new here, and fairly new to crypto currency. I bought my first bitcoin this past June, and I have to say I am completely fascinated with the concept of decentralized currency. I wish it had piqued my interest sooner. My goal from the beginning (and still is) is to hold my small investment, and make it grow. Having an understanding of our current fiat currency system and its fraud ridden history makes it all the more attractive in my eyes. So far I have made some pretty stupid mistakes but I am learning from them. I have been mining a little with Minergate, I have some bitcoin I have been lending in Bitfinex, and I also have some faucets that I collect from regularly. My small amount is growing slowly but surely, and I will be diverting all of my alt coins toward Steemit.
I live in the suburbs of Vancouver, BC, Canada. I also spend a lot of time at my cottage in Scotch Creek, BC. I hope to share information and photos from my area. British Columbia is a beautiful part of the world.
I am hoping to find inspiration with Steemit to kick start my creative juices. I am at my happiest, when I am doing something creative. I love to draw, paint, and do photography, pretty much any craft you could throw at me. I might even try my hand at one of those creative writing contests I have been reading about. I am really impressed with the amount of effort people make with their post in the Steemit community. I have learned many interesting things already and people seem very friendly.
I have a wide interest in many things. I am a very curious person, so I have researched many subjects, everything from the strange to the mundane. My past working life has been in telecommunications, and hospitality, and I have dabbled in some programming. I love to keep up with world news, I enjoy politics and philosophy. I also enjoy conspiracy theories, but that doesn't mean I necessarily believe in them. I feel very strongly about freedom of speech, and I prefer truth over political correctness. I am the kind of woman that would be more interested in the latest tech gadget than jewelry or handbags. I prefer the peacefulness of the country more than the chaos of the city. I love animals, especially dogs. I am a very quiet and shy introvert, so this posting is taking me outside of my comfort zone.
