Hello steemit!
I’m very excited to introduce myself to you! My name is Brianna Hurley, a self-proclaimed travel expert. From a very young age, my dad ingrained in me a curiosity and love for travel. Now this next part may just sound like I’m bragging and am very shallow, with little to no real world experiences, but…just be patient.
I remember flying first class with my 3 siblings at the age of 10, where we sipped on our fancy OJ and ate our fancy meals, playing war on those silver trays that came out of the arm rests. We’d step off the plane and there’d be a man holding a sign that said “Hurley’s”, he’d escort us to our limo which then took us to a fancy Hilton, or some boutique hotel where we would spend our family vacations. Whether we were exploring the land around us, or lounging in the pool, sipping virgin drinks and eating $20 burgers, I always thought “ahhh…this is the life for me” (who wouldn’t think that?)
Once a year my dad would spoil us with these types of vacations. It’s given me a real passion for travel - - I thought every vacation should be like this! Why not?
Why not? WHY NOT? To my surprise, our family never became the Kardashians (we somehow missed that boat of becoming famous for nothing :( )
I’m sitting here typing, while I’m “working” my 9-5 job, telling you why not.
The why not is because I’m a middle ass American, living on a middle ass salary, spending the majority of my time working or driving in the car to get to work.
I can hardly afford my groceries and drug store makeup, how the hell can I afford first class plane & limo rides, fancy hotels, fancy restaurants, etc…The answer is: I just I can’t.
If there’s one thing I learned in my adult life…Being broke does not mean you don't get to go on crazy fun vacations. That is why my whole blog will be dedicated to BALLING ON A BUDGET.
Yep – you heard right. I like to have a fun time, spending little to no money. How? I may have to take 2-3 plane rides to make it to my destination, grocery shop while I'm there, and sleep on the hardwood floor of my friends living room…but I find a way…and I would love to show & share with you how…
Next up on my travel itinerary:
