I ended up here in a round about way. About 6 months ago I was interested in learning more about blockchain and cryptocurrencies and stumbled across Beyond Bitcoin Community podcast on Podcast Addict. At first it was like they were speaking a foreign language, but after a few episodes I was starting to get it. So I invested in some Bit Shares and caught the tail end of the crowd funding. A shout out to
for all he has done and getting me hooked. I even started attending the live Beyond Bitcoin Mumble sessions until the day was changed. I then faded away a little as life got busy. Recently my teenage son became interested in cryptocurrency and re-sparked my interest.
About Me
I'm an electrical engineer by degree and a computer hardware developer by day. However my real passion/past time is Beekeeping. I've been involved in beekeeping for over 40 years (started when I was 7 working for my dad). In high school I had about 20 hives of my own and sold the honey to a farmer who had a market spot in NYC. More about my beekeeping history to come in future posts, including the bee beard which will be my next post :-)
My tech background has lead me into some interesting areas of beekeeping. I have been running Beemaster.com, a forum for hobbyist beekeepers, since 2004. I also developed and manufacture the Bushkill Bee Vac, which is used to save bees from structures with minimal stress. There are beekeepers all across the country using my bee vacs to save honeybees from being exterminated.
So needless to say the majority of the content I will be sharing on Steemit will be beekeeping related. Not sure how much an interest there will be, but I have many channels to beekeepers across the globe and I hope I can lead them here to see my content (and hopefully add their own).
That's probably enough for now. Hopefully my beekeeping knowledge will be useful and help others.
To finish this off, here is my "verify" photo.
