Introduction To Steemit

Steemit fam whats good? 🔥

My name is Pablo, I'm a 21 year old undergrad student in Australia, of Philippine decent. I heard of steemit from fellow user Hive account@karabrick and am so curious about the platform, as well as the 'blockchain' itself. Hive account@karabrick is also responsible for my introduction into cryptocurrency, a world that fascinates me beyond anything I have learnt at university. Its simplicity and message are what drew me, but the scale of what is possible with the concept is what is kept my attention. I look forward to learning more about it with everyone here.

Im currently four fifths into a double degree in Civil Engineering & Finance, with the hopes of specialising in geotechnical engineering and eventually more of a financial position in project management and chief analytical work. My interest's outside of my career include a borderline obsession with the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA, great television (Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, etc.) and all things new age/alternative hip-hop, with my favourite acts including Frank Ocean, Daniel Caesar & dvsn.

On this platform I intend to write pieces such as NBA retrospectives (with my first piece being a 'What If' investigation on how the league would look had the Thunder pulled the trigger on a Rondo-Westbrook trade in 2011-2013), what I am listening to at the moment (Colours 2 - PND, Ctrl - SZA, etc.) and updates on my crypto knowledge (I imagine my first piece will be about my curiosity on 'crypto's' market efficiency), with the intention of logging what I have learnt and leaving a blueprint for new beginners to observe and/or follow.

I have also just birthed a youtube channel ('p-value') with my friend Hive account@karabrick. It is a place for us to experiment with our content and will be where we first flex our podcast muscles. The end goal with my dive into cryptocurrency stretches beyond monetary gain. Clearly, saving enough money to travel parts of the world I have yet to see, before I have to accept adulthood and the 9-5 job that it comes with is a goal. But, learning more about the new technologies that the world has yet to offer us and observing how a new economy adapts to an ever changing world is prospects enough for me to really embrace cryptocurrency.

Finally, I am so excited to be part of the steemit community. Hopping on this platform at its beta stage must have been how all the Ivy League students felt when Facebook first came to existence. The level of engagement will be what inspires my post's so do not hesitate to comment/share on any of my/your opinions, so type away!
