Hello Steemians,
I am and I’m a homeschool Mom, Author/Artist, Composer/Songwriter, Perpetual Traveler, and a former blogger. I am also a co-creator for Saturn Music & Entertainment (a family homeschool project). Here is a little bit about me:
In my earlier years, I used work for ‘the phone company’. I would often hear about and be involved in projects that were building out infrastructure for new technologies that would be deployed for public consumption (ex: adding 3G data to cellular networks and devices). So when I learned about Bitcoin in 2012, I saw the potential for this to be a huge game-changer. I invested in Bitcoin (at around the $10 price) and started learning as much as I could about new kinds of crypto-tech. Eventually I started blogging about the amazing crypto revolution taking place.
I had to stop blogging for a bit (for reasons I'll explain in a minute), but now I am re-emerging into the blog-o-sphere and will start posting content here on Steemit. I like the idea of posting meaningful content on Steemit and having interest categories to choose from.
Formerly, I blogged under the name CryptoMama for some smaller e-news outfits, that, in the end, weren’t ready to embrace the rising crypto-tech revolution. While editors chose not to publish new crypto-tech articles (and even deleted the ones they felt were too ‘alternative’ for their publication), I remained determined to keep learning about crypto-tech and turn my own learning into homeschool lessons for my young teenage kids. You can read about their blockchain journey on the Steemit Saturn Music & Entertainment page, .
I was eager to have my kids explore the tech, the future applications it would eventually create/support, and then report back to me about what they were able to absorb. Simultaneously, I included them in conversations about our family crypto investments, new developments on particular platforms and how/why we thought this future tech would be successful. And, based on our current portfolio, they can see we’ve been able to see the writing on the wall for quite some time.
Of course, there were other reasons for my blogging absence, including the special needs care of my son (new blogger ) who is now on Steemit to share some of his inspiring works and life stories.
Raising a special needs child has been the toughest and the most beautifully fulfilling experience of my life. When Hayden was younger, he was very embarrassed about having Autism. Two years ago he developed Epilepsy as he entered puberty (which is apparently becoming more common place of Autistic children – so say his neurologists) and we’ve spent the last two years growing through this as a family. It’s been a soul shaping experience for all of us.
Up until now, Hayden has asked me to be very private about his Autism and Epilepsy. Even though former teachers, friends and family have asked me to share how we’ve come so far, despite his multiple diagnosis, I honored Hayden’s wishes.
Recently, Hayden’s had a change of heart. Perhaps this soul shaping gift presented in the form of Epilepsy has helped Hayden see that, through his experiences, and how he views the world, he has a lot to offer those of us willing to see the beauty of his place on this Earth.
Hayden’s new willingness to share his experiences has inspired me to get back into blogging. And now that he is older and has taken a more active role in managing his Epilepsy and homeschool assignments, getting back to blogging is a reality for me.
I am looking forward to sharing more posts here on Steemit. I intend to post blogs relating to my kids, their homeschool projects, travel, music, photography (one of my favorite hobbies), and crypto projects I am interested in.
Thank you for reading!
