I started playing football when I was very young and found out I was great at it because I could run faster than all the kids hahaha. When I got to middle and high school, my size caught up to me(I'm short), but I still loved it and played up until my Junior year, where I tore my ACL in a summer (out of season) practice.
It was awful being on bedrest, but during that time it made me spend more time learning guitar and writing songs. I couldn't tell you how much I wrote during those weeks hahaha, and I'm probably glad now I don't have recordings of it.
I had the opportunity to go away to college (5 hours away!) and used music to connect with SOOO many other people, got to travel to play, and even get paid to record artists! (Something high school me never would have dreamed!)
Looking back, if I hadn't gotten hurt and been forced to quit football, I never would have picked up something that has brought me so much joy (and pain hahaha). Life is what you make it, and you can make it great!
