Cześć (hello) from Wrocław, Poland!
This is the first post in my travel series, Bardic Blog. Here I will begin to document some of my adventures as a traveling street musician and hobo helper.
I have been traveling now for 2 years as a busker and volunteer, living completely off of the gift economy of donations and exchange. In the future I may write some posts about the first two years, but for now I'd like to keep it current.
I arrived in Poland a few days ago. It has been a dream to visit this country for some time, as I have Polish ancestry. Wrocław is a beautiful and laid back city.
The people here enjoy street performers as well. I've seen women playing guitar and singing, a Korean man playing electronic drums and singing K-Pop, guys in speedos climbing giant ladders, fire players, dreadlock hippies playing big drums, and the obligatory accordion guy.
Here's a snapshot someone took of me at my busking pitch.
There's a feeling of appreciation for the arts in Wrocław. It is also the city of dwarves! You can find small sculptures of little bearded guys all over. I guess I fit right in!
I can't wait to see more of Poland! Here are a few more pictures I grabbed in my short stay here. I'll be sure to continue updates on my journey.
