Hello fellow Steemians!
Please allow me to take a moment to introduce myself.
I'm Dani Mouser, a native Oregonian who recently transplanted all the way across the country to beautiful New Orleans, Louisiana. It's been just over a year and I already feel like it's home. Turns out, this girl was born to live in this swampy jazzy city! Sometimes it smells like a fish tank, and that's okay, because the place is fantastic and full of lizard buddies.
I consider myself to be the luckiest lady in the land, because I'm happily engaged to my sweetheart . He's just the greatest guy there ever was.
Photography is my primary artistic outlet. A camera found its way into my hands while I was studying graphic design in college. As soon as I picked it up, it just felt right. In the years since then, I’ve received a small handful of photography awards, have shown my pieces in a number of art galleries, and found myself published in the Photographer’s Forum’s annual Best of College Photography for two years. I absolutely love working with creative lighting.
Photography is also my primary line of work. I started my business, Dani Photography, in 2009. Over the past nearly ten years, business has ebbed and flowed, and my style, areas of interest, as well as my clients, have changed. It feels like it's grown with me; it continues to evolve. For a number of years, it was my full-time job and only source of income. For a number of years, I struggled with it emotionally and almost gave it up. Today, I'm working hard to re-establish my business here in New Orleans, twenty-two hundred miles away from my solid client-base of nine years. In some ways, things have taken root here much quicker than I ever anticipated, and in some ways, I just wish I had a few more clients. Thus is the struggle of starting over, but I have faith.
A few samples of my client work:
On a personal note: life is good! We bought a double shotgun home in the lower ninth ward and are busy building our cute little nest, with everything just to our specifications. We've nearly completed Phase One of our home interior remodeling, converting the unoccupied half of our double into a private AirBnB apartment and Photography Studio. Evan is working really hard to make our outdoor living spaces beautiful and functional. He's busy plugging away at our next landscaping projects: a chicken coop, expanding our garden, a fruit tree privacy hedge, a grape arbor, planting lovely scented magnolias and sweet olive, and all sorts of cute things.
In addition to my photography, and Evan's music pursuits, we have a number of other irons in the fire. Some of the fun things we're working on and blogging about: salt water coral farming, lacto-fermented veggies, and the Ev Dogg For Mayor internet comic.
For perhaps the first time in my life, I very much look forward to the future. I'm overjoyed to spend my life with a partner who shares and enhances my dreams for our days and years together, and pushes me to be the best version of my self every day.
Well, Steemians, that's my introduction. If you like what you saw, give me a follow, give me an upvote, and let's talk photography! I'll continue to post my work, behind-the-scenes, and lighting information for any of my shoots I think you may find interesting.

Dani
