Hello Steemit Community :}
This is my introductory post... I've been following a few members to get my feet wet, and decided it was time to launch my own intro. My husband has been recently caught the CRYPTO currencies bug, and we see the benefit as we are skeptical of the traditional financial picture. He is the one who found Steemit and told me about it.
My Background
While I have many interests -- following sports has been my main thing now for quite awhile. Throughout grade school and high school, I played volleyball, basketball, and softball on my school teams and even played as a "pine-rider" a little bit in college. At that time I preferred playing to watching. The sports I did watch were usually because my dad and brothers would have a game on and we only had 1 TV! But as a 50+ year old housewife and mother of 2 teenage boys, my competitive playing days on organized sports teams has long since ended. I do manage a couple ladies golf leagues, and fantasize that I could join the senior pro circuit and make some money, but reality hits and I know I will never make my fortune playing sports! So, I've turned my attention to sports betting. It went hand-in-hand with the following the stock market, which I've also been on top of since the big financial drop in 2007. While I had little use for economics, finance, probability and stats during my years of school, I have seen the error of my thinking as an older adult. Technical chart analysis, bookmaker money lines and point spreads have a lot in common. Sports and the Stock Market are " randomly chaotic" - so you'll never find the perfect system that will work all the time, but there are patterns and details that can be exploited to help improve your overall probability. You just have to have patience and analyze the details that matter most (Ahhh... see how I would have benefited from stats classes!!!...although being self-taught and motivated works too).
Why Am I Here
My husband and I run our own internet/web services business from home, and we're always looking for new revenue streams. I've been wanting to start a blog centered around sports betting to see if I can prove that the "Experts" are no better at picking bets than I am. So when I saw that I could start a blog here and possibly earn some crypto in the process, I figured I have nothing to lose. I read a WELCOME post from
on how to get started (thank you BTW), made my own avatar to help brand Mrs Moneyline, and off I go!
Other Stuff
That's me sitting at my piano (see verification photo)... I do play for fun and relaxation (but certainly will not be making my fortune in that area either!) I love to go to movies and eat popcorn (probably shouldn't eat as much of that now). Grew up watching a ton of TV in the late 70s and 80s. (and I still love to watch a variety of shows - but have at least cut the cable/satellite cord and watch via streaming services now). I try to make it at least one baseball game per year (my seat at Busch Stadium last summer, home of the St. Louis Cardinals). My two sons are 6'9" and 6'3" and neither one plays on a sports team. Instead, the oldest does marching band and choir, and the younger one is quite the gamer...(that's us this past Christmas Eve).
