Hi there, my name is Dominggus and I live in Breda, a small city in the south of the Netherlands.
"Dominggus" is a typical Indonesian firstname - named after my grandfather, who came here in 1951 along with 12.000 other Moluccan soldiers and their families after having fought for the Dutch crown in the former Dutch Indies (Indonesia nowadays). I actually once read somewhere that my name could possibly even be of Portugese heritage, because of the Moluccan Islands used to be colonised by Portugal, just like in Aceh (another island in Indonesia), where they still speak Portugese. Also some words (for example "mentega") are still the same.
Anyways....
So this is me, striking a draw-me-like-one-of-your-french-girls pose from Titanic. On the background you see the Tower Bridge, and on the right there is a woman taking a picture from my butt, #multianglemuch (not really though, I think she's taking a selfie but I actually_do_ have a good butt LOL)...
A friend of ours lives in London with his wife, and we surprised him with a weekend with his bros. His wife was in on it and we had a good time, we even visited the Greenwich Observatory. I even took a selfie with GMT+0, but got photobombed by a 6y/o:
After showing them this obviously cool frog-perspective camera-angle, they all wanted to do a #squad photo, and I honestly think this was the coolest photo of that weekend :)
FUN FACT:
Mike (the friend living in London, standing in the back) has one foot on the left and his other foot on the right hemisphere of the world.
But okay, back to me.
I am 31 years old and I am quite good with computers. I first studied Computer Science at the University of Technology in Eindhoven. After a couple years of struggling to get my propedeuse (the first year), I followed a minor Human Computer Interaction, where Cognition, Perception and other interesting courses were given.
I figured Computer Science wasn't going to be what I wanted to do in my future - so I quit and began studying Communication and Multimedia Design in my hometown Breda. Here I learned to develop my creativity and combined with my technological background I can really express my artistic self #imho...
For example, together with another student we created a big LED-installation containing 18.000 LEDs, controlled by 8 Arduinos - I actually programmed the RGB-pixels myself in the Arduino programming language 🤓 #geekmuch.
I am currently working as a iOS developer, so I can actually create and develop apps in Objective-C and Swift for almost five years now. You could say I'm an #extrovert nerd.
But honestly, I miss expressing myself on a more creative and cross medial way, so I figured why not try it on Steemit!
FOLLOW ME !
