In exactly how many words can I pen down 22 years of my life? Let’s see. I can begin by telling you that I am a linguistics student, a compulsive reader, an amateur writer, a not-so-subtle philosopher, and a kind human being. I can also tell you that I am a true introvert, a passionate listener, a hopeless romantic, and a patient friend. Also, I am emotional, empathetic, and beautiful. What else? I have been, like everyone else, heartbroken, betrayed, lied to, abandoned, and taken for granted. But I have also been, just like everyone else, loved, cherished, pampered, and adored. I have two super-annoying-yet-totally-lovable elder siblings (yep, I am the youngest one) and a super-duper-awesome mother. I lost my father when I was 10.
Let’s talk about my likes and dislikes. It’s not a long list. There is nothing that I dislike as such but there are certain things that repel me and I like to stay away from them as much as I can. These include dishonesty and unkindness (I mean, it’s not hard to be kind to another person, is it?). That’s it. About the things that I like, on the top of the list would be tea! A warm cup of tea (extra boiled, less sugar, less milk) can absolutely make everything okay at the end of the day. Other than that, you have words, nature, stories, music, poetry, real conversations, and well, the best of all, solitude.
Moving on to my ambitions, it took me 22 years to realise that I will never have one! In fact, I have many at any given point in time. But the one true ambition of my life is to never stop learning. (Oh! And also, to become a super-fun-and-creative¬ publisher who can just bring great literature into the world.)
Look! You’ve read 300 words about me and yet you don’t know how I have battled low self-worth issues and suicidal thoughts for almost 9 to 10 years of my life, how I have learnt to love myself with each heartbreak, what I think love is and is supposed to be, what are the causes that I believe in, the books that I like, the places that I have visited, how I see the world, or about the time I interned at Walt Disney World! Funny, is it not? Here’s a thought. How about you tell me 300 words about yourself , and then we stay in touch with each other and let our minds converse? Cool? Cool.
P.S: my username was a gift from a very special friend. Want to know what it means? Ask me.
