I'm Melissa and I'm a Newbie here at Steemit. I first learned about this new social media platform through 
To make my introduction easier, I will just make it in bullet form. Besides being friendly and kind, below are some of the most "interesting" things I think you will want to know.
1. I work in a cemetery
Yes, that's sementeryo in Tagalog where all dead people lie. People ask me what I'm doing there and I happily tell them that I'm a supulturera (gravedigger). Of course, I'm only kidding. I work in sales so I sell properties for the dead, and this is where I'm not joking.
I also do hosting during libing (interments) and that's where the fun begins. You can actually see the person lying in the coffin and his loved ones crying really hard for him. So, all in all I think I have a fun job.
Note: I'm thinking of writing a blog about this peculiar work of mine but I'm saving that for later.
2. I'm a Young Mom (and currently expecting)
I'm now pregnant... again. This is for the second, and hopefully the last time, because you know bills. I can say that I have no regrets being a young mom at 20 (Oh, by the way, I'm 22 now). Yes, I admit that it was really hard at first but then when I gave birth to my first child I felt like he is the motivation I needed to love life more.
Now, I'm pregnant with my second child and I can't wait again to give birth to a whole new blessing again!
3. I am a Freelance writer
I don't think this is interesting because I know many of the bloggers here are also Freelancers. However, I am really proud to be a Freelance writer that's why this is a must.
When I was pregnant with my first child, we survived because of freelancing and without the opportunity to write for other people I don't think we could have survived the hardships of life. That's why I will never turn my back on freelancing. My first bread and butter.
4. I love photography
This is one of my favorite hobbies because it enhances your creativity. I only use my cellphone or point-and-shoot camera to take pictures then edit it in my phone. I also know some basic knowledge on DSLR but since I don't own one, I can't really teach you anything about the pro-cam.
5. I love mixing learning with earning
That's why I joined Steemit because I love the fact that you could learn from the Steemians and at the same time earn some extra cash. I've tried other blogging platforms before like Tumblr, Wordpress and Blogspot but none really satisfied both of my loves. So, I'm really thankful for the people who introduced me to this community. Without you guys, maybe I'm still 'social-searching" right now.
