SICK! & CREATIVE WRITING
My name is Emelie Hill Dittmer, I'm a freelance journalist and a creative writing teacher who trained at Skurups Folkhögskola in Sweden. I divide my time between the UK and Sweden and have reported for the Anglo-Swedish community since 2006 for magazines and newspapers in both countries. My interests are existential issues, health, personal development, psychology, alternative medicine and life stories.
My focus as a creative writing teacher is therapeutic writing linked to personal development and health, were I aim to highlight the creative form of expression to help people process and develop their thoughts and feelings, where strong life stories often are the focus.
I am also one of Write Your Self’s license scholarship recipients, as well as one of the first guides to become a certified Write Your Self guide.
This summer I will be hosting workshops at the group exhibition Sick! – Living with invisible illness, located in Rochester, England.
The exhibition will explore what it means to live with an invisible illness by artists with first-hand experience.
The show will cover work over a range of different mediums such as installation, video, painting and sculpture”.
