My name is JJ Rattey, I am a 28 year old entrepreneur from Cape Town, South Africa (born & raised) & my blog is Exkwizard!
Super excited to be a part of the community and I look forward to getting to know everyone here and the platform itself.
I won't lie I felt a bit out of my depth here with Steem when I first found it because of the layout , and the 3 currencies, the fact that we can program our own apps, and how most features I took for granted on other social media platforms like Facebook just aren't here...yet.
That's all changed in the week it took to verify my account, I took that time to research, research, and do some more research! Seriously, my square eyes eventually dried out....

After all that research I feel a bit more confident in my knowledge but nowhere near a master yet. I look forward to doing more research and eventually contributing my own knowledge and applications to the platform.
My passion is business & entrepreneurship and my interest go further into Science & Technology. Since a child I was always very curious and always asking questions until i found the answer which I believe has given me an open mind with regards to the world and its development, most times optimistic, sometimes pessimistic...Also I have a lot of shit to talk about so plenty of content for Steemit!
I have always been overly ambitious and probably not cautious enough but I am growing into my own skills.
I currently have one business successful enough for me to be proud of and that business is Eco Preferred Management.
Our goal at EPM is to supply High quality, Eco friendly products to South Africa to help with a lot of our current issues ( Water saving , Clean & efficient energy, recycling, etc) We are currently very busy with the water issues in the Western Cape selling smart meters and coming up with water saving solutions for our communities.
I am working to be an accomplished businessman & investor but my ambitions are not only monetary.

I love my family. I love my girlfriend. I love my friends.
My hobbies are surfing, hiking, and other outdoor activities. I really love being in the thick of nature, always have and always will, it is in my blood. I hike regularly around Cape Town so I will be uploading plenty of pictures of this amazing city (water issues & all) and its natural beauty.

I started surfing at the age of 6 so the ocean is a major part of my life, I can't remember a day when I wasn't at the beach with my dad growing up, it was fucking awesome. I lost a bit of my passion for a while because of competitive surfing and me not meeting up to my own expectations, so I gave that up. I'm better off competing in the business world and just surfing to get away from all of that.
My Goals for Steemit are quite simple, I want to become a valuable contributing member of the community in all aspects of the phrase. From Networking and growing, to Learning and mentoring new steemians eventually.
I want to show you all how beautiful South Africa is and how life is in Cape Town.
