Happy April Fool's Day everyone!
Most people associate the first day in April as a "green light" to subject the people in their life to hilarious pranks and hoaxes. Whoever fall's victim to such a hoax is deemed an April Fool and will hear "April Fool's" when the prank is revealed. Search any of your social media feeds and you will see outlandish claims and promises designed to trick you and hopefully create a good laugh. As fun as this can be, pranks can backfire and leave us feeling anything but laughter. That's what happened to me.
My first and last April Fool's prank happened over 20 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. I was pregnant with my first child and was visiting my in-law's family. With me was a young couple that was newly married and the wife wanted to play a trick on her hubby. Since I was pregnant, she wanted to fake a pregnancy test with the intent of scaring him and laughing at his freak out session. Being that I had never done any April Fool's day antics in the past, I thought, "Why not? What could possibly happen?". Before this, I shied away from pranks for I had always sympathized with the "victim" of the prank and didn't see how being gullible ever felt good. Usually I felt bad for them thinking that it wasn't as jovial or innocent to the person on the receiving end as it appeared. Thinking that I finally needed to try something new, I agreed to her proposal and listened to the plan.
After collecting my urine (that sounds grosser than it was lol) she waited in anticipation for him to come home. She masterfully set the scene to drop the proverbial bomb on him and did the pregnancy test right in front of him using my urine. The test of course came back positive and she was beside herself with excitement at his anticipated negative emotional outburst. Seconds went by and what she got was not at all what she expected. Instead of her hubby being all upset and freaked out he jumped up with joy and started to dance around the room. "Shit" she thought, and wondered how she was going to break the news to him that this was indeed a prank and that she wasn't pregnant at all. Needless to say the talk afterward was filled with apologies on her end and new resolutions on mine; no more practical jokes.
You may wonder why I have tied my announcement of my hypnosis-based blog with April Fool's Day and there are two reasons:
- Hypnosis is no joke
- You can get excited about it for it really works.
I too had many misconceptions about this power therapy, here are a few:
- It's mind control/brainwashing
- Compromises your spiritual self
- I can't be hypnotized.
- I will be embarrassed like those people on stage.
Those misconceptions were dispelled during my certification to become a hypnotist specializing in:
5-PATH®: Five Phase Advanced Transformational Hypnosis Cal Banyan.com/5PATH
7th Path Self-Hypnosis® Cal Banyan.com/7th path
My video gives you a comical view of the first misconception; hypnosis is mind control. Together we can take the veil off this life changing practice and give the world some good news; we definitely need it.
