Spider-Gwen, also known as Ghost Spider, is a fictional superhero appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Jason Latour and Robbi Rodriguez, and first appeared in Edge of Spider-Verse #2 in 2014.
In an alternate universe, Gwen Stacy was bitten by a radioactive spider instead of Peter Parker, giving her spider-like abilities. She becomes Spider-Woman, and after her universe's Peter Parker is killed, she takes on the responsibility of protecting New York City as its sole Spider-person.
Spider-Gwen has since become a popular character in the Marvel Comics universe, and has appeared in various comics, including her own ongoing series. She has also appeared in other media, such as the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse animated film and the Marvel Rising animated series.
